1 Introduction

1.1 Introduction

This Installation Guide is intended for

• UNIX system administrators who install and maintain the Erlang system,
  
• users installing Erlang on Windows NT.
  

Note, however, that for an ordinary installation on UNIX any special privileges are not necessarily required for this task, i.e. an end user may act as administrator, if appropriate.

1.1.1 Prerequisites

For UNIX systems the installation parts of this guide assume that the user is familiar with how to install software on a UNIX system.
