Demo goes live
Written by Raimo, 24 Mar 2011

The site http://demo.erlang.org will be promoted to http://www.erlang.org and hence go live.

There might be some disturbances since we have to change IP addresses through DNS and change mail servers at the same time.

We will also change mailing list software to our previous GNU Mailman; the grass was not greener on the qmail side. The web interface to Mailman might take some time to get working, we'll see. All subscribtions will be transferred.

Not all services will be transferred, e.g bittorrent since there has been a fairly low usage. Given sufficient public demand, we might rethink this. The mirrors will also be a future issue since we now get a dynamic content site.

Down for Maintenance
Written by Raimo, 03 Mar 2011

We will move the server for demo.erlang.org to a new location so there will be one day of downtime. It will be up again 2011-03-03 at 1600 CET, hopefully. Sorry for any inconvenience.
